Temporary Insanity

It is his eyes that draw her to him, you, boy, with your cerulean sun eyes. They sparkle but hold a certain mystery that fascinates her. A simple glance has her clutching her arms; she tries to hide the goose bumps that run down her arms. She’ll try to look away but you’ll hold her gaze. This girl is worried you’ll see into her soul. She’s convinced that you’ll know what she’s thinking… she blushes with the thought. He’s quick to catch the change in her mood and his eyes soften, maybe it was a trick of the light but she swears they changed color. And then, he smiles.
She sees his smile and the world around her comes to a complete halt. In her mind it’s perfect, just slightly lopsided. This boy doesn’t smile with his teeth; he keeps his lips together laying gently on one another. But when he laughs, he closes his eyes and throws his head back; the laughter erupts from deep in his chest, she can’t help but smile. His lips are perfectly sculpted. She watches them and waits for him to speak. Then he does.
His voice flows over her and she takes in the caramel honey sound. He speaks clearly and with a certain understanding, sometimes she just stares at him in awe. He knows so much and is willing to share it with her. His knowledge seems endless; she loves to listen to him. When he’s finished she’ll ask him questions so she can hear his beautiful voice again. If she doesn’t understand something he explains it to her without hesitation.
He is taller than she, the perfect height really, so when she relaxes her head it’s on his chest. Sometimes she reaches up and runs her fingers threw his tight curly hair. It’s always so soft like silk. She can tell him anything, he’ll keep her secrets, and when she gets worked up his soothing touch is what calms her. He whispers to her that everything will be alright and she listens to him, she’ll believe every word he says.
