Happy New Year!

Hello all and Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! My Christmas was great and my New Year was nice and quiet, spent with family. I think maybe next year we'll venture out! This year is going to be very busy but that's ok because it's going to be a great one!! In 4 months I'll be married to the man of my dreams!! I couldn't be more excited that it's almost here, finally when people ask me when I'm getting married I can say THIS YEAR!!! We started our wedding planning more than a year ago so it's been a long time coming! So to bring in the new year I did a happy new year mani! Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of it, by the time I decided I was going to blog about it, it had chipped. Here's what I used though:
First I painted the top coat with China Glaze Champagne Bubbles. I actually found this on clearance at Ulta! Next I used this awesome polish my future sister-in-law got me for Christmas!
It's Kleancolor Firework. This polish went perfectly with the champagne bubbles! It was super cute and went on really smooth (which I was surprised about since the glitter pieces are pretty large.) I didn't go crazy and slather it on my nails, I placed the glitter thinly on all my nails. This is probably why it wasn't rough after I put my top coat on. It lasted a good four days before the chipping began which I think is pretty good since I'm constantly using my hands while at work. I also got a lot of compliments on it =]

As one of my New Years Resolutions I have vowed to be more organized and to really tackle the clutter on my desk (and more importantly... keep the clutter off *cough cough*) so my first step was to find a really good organizer (I figured this would come in handy for scheduling all the appointments for the wedding too!) I found this one on Amazon for $12, there's a blog that I absolutely LOVE (it really inspired me to get more organized). Here's the organizer:
It helped that it was super cute =] and the blog is called The Nest Effect, it's full of awesome ideas!

Tonight Fancy is taking me to a dinner party that's being thrown by the new company he works for. I'm really excited because I get to dress up!! More on that later!

I'm off to do some more organizing! Hopefully I can get Fancy to take out the Christmas Tree this weekend. It seems no matter how many times I vacuum the dogs always seem to find some Christmas tree needles!

Long time no blog

Hello gang! Sorry for the extended absence.... there's really no excuse! I think it was mainly because my polish obsession was getting a weeeee bit out of control and I went through a period where my nails were really brittle. I had to give them a break (haha no pun intended).

I can honestly say I went a good two months or more where I didn't buy a single bottle of nail polish! I refused to look at them, I didn't go to Ross to find good deals on Colorclub...I haven't  even been to Ulta in months! It was this week that I decided it would be ok to look. I had some greeting card coupons to CVS I wanted to use that had dates that were close to expiring but the CVS I went to didn't carry the brand that my coupons covered (figures). Instead of leaving right away I wandered over to the makeup section to see if they had anything interesting on sale. I immediately saw that there were clearance stickers on some of the Sally Hansen polishes! A wooping 75% off!! I found three =]

I wish I hadn't taken the picture on my Christmas table cloth... it doesn't help that the tablecloth is red >_< oops. Anyways, these polishes normally retail for $5.49 each but I got them for $1.37 each! To top it off, I had a $3 extrabuck that I'd been hanging onto so I ended up paying $1.40 for all three!! I ended up saving $15.36! What a great deal!

The following day after I got off work I decided to take advantage of some of the sales that were going to be ending the next day. I got a pretty sweet haul for absolutely nothing!
Here's what I bought and what coupon(s) I used:

Pleasant Surprise

Last night Fancy took my to Wiregrass Mall. I was very happy to go because I've been losing weight and my pants have started to fall down, so my plan was to find a new pair of pants! One of our stops was Sephora in JCPenney because I found a coupon online for a free sample of lip gloss from bare minerals. I've only been in Sephora once, however they didn't have any samples =( but the girl said that she could make me a sample out of anything! I decided to go with a sample of Vera Wang's new perfume called "LoveStruck". It's a very nice smell! I'm happy with my sample =) um so of course after I got my sample, I turn around and oh hello nail polish! I picked up this little beaut!
I didn't realize OPI made polish for Sephora so imagine my excitement! This one is called "Set the Mood" This I think will be my next mani (after the one I just did... more on that later)!

Our next stop at Wiregrass was American Eagle! One of my favorite stores! I found a really cute outfit!
My sweater was an extra 50% off....but.....I may have paid full price for my jeans. I bought the sweater and the jeans! Oh did I mention I've lost 13 pounds? ^___^ I brag a little because I've worked really hard! I've been watching what I eat and exercising regularly! I had an interesting conversation with one of my customers, here's how it went down:
Her: "You lose weight?"
Me: "Yes! Can you tell?"
Her: "Hmmhmm... so you not eating?"
Me: "Uh.... no I eat. I just don't eat a bunch of crap." Aaaaand then I walked away (lol).

Anyways!! I noticed that American Eagle has kind of picked up a bit of an Urban Outfitters feel (which is fine with me!). I say this because they had books, lots more jewelery, more wallets and purses.... oh uh and polish! They had this itty bitty display of teeny tiny bottle their own brand nail polish. As I stated last post, my Moulin Rouge mani didn't last long... it may have lasted longer if I hadn't chipped it at work today. >_< I have a really bad habit of picking my nail polish off once it chips. Usually I get lucky and it chips when I'm at home and I can just take it off right then. I wasn't so lucky today, I picked aaaaaaalllllllll the polish off, it was almost embarrassing how ugly my nails looked with bits of red polish still clinging on for dear life to my nail. I work with my hands a lot at work and I'm constantly handing things to people. I dropped lots of things today trying to hide my nails! Getting home I knew I HAD to do something to my nails so I decided to go with my teeny tiny bottle of polish I bought from American Eagle, on sale, for a buck!
This no name polish is AWESOME! I LOVE the color. It took two coats to be opaque. The polish went on super smooth and dried very fast.

Color wise, I would call this Mauve. Who knew mauve could be so hot? I'm thinking I'll be taking a trip to American Eagle again tomorrow to retrieve a few more colors! And maybe an extra bottle of this color! =D

Thanks for reading!! Till next time!

China Glaze Moulin Rouge

Lately, I've been giving my nails a bit of a rest from polish. I was painting them a TON and I trimmed them back and just put some strengthener on them until they were finished with their recooping-ness. And now they are! I've been DYING to try my new China Glaze "Moulin Rouge" polish! Unfortunately I'm on the ropes about this one. The polsih in the bottle looks AMAZING. There's lots of different colored glitters in it.
Of course you can't see them in this picture >_< I should really just take the pictures with my actual camera instead of my phone but it's just so much more convient this way ^_^
I was sooooooooooooooo excited for this color....
uuuugggghhhhhh.... I started with Finger Paints base coat, then applied two coats of polish. It was very difficult to get even on my nails. Maybe I didn't mix it up enough but sometimes it felt almost gel-like. After two coats of polish, I topped it with TWO coats of OPI top coat and because of all the glitter I couldn't get a smooth finish. IDK, this may be one that looks better in the bottle =( Needless to say I don't think this will be staying on my nails for very long.

New finds

This weekend was at first somewhat difficult but then turned out to be ok! Fancy's grandmother wasn't doing too well at first (But don't worry! She's doing better!). We were in charge of getting breakfast so we wandered into a Publix down there. I always like going to a Publix that I haven't been in before, I like to look at the things they have that we don't carry here! I found some polish ooooof course! We carry China Glaze but they had some colors I hadn't see before! So I narrowed it down to two (Fancy wouldn't let me get the four that I wanted).

Then, yesterday I wandered over to Ulta and found a pretty cool OPI set, plus they gave you a free top or bottom coat. I also picked up my first Essence polish.
(From Left to Right): OPI "William tell me about OPI", China Glaze "Moulin Rouge" (HAD to get this because of the name! Moulin Rouge is one of my all time favorite movies!), OPI "I'm not really a waitress", China Glaze "Strawberry Smoothie", and Essence in "Just rock it!".

Can't wait to try them all! Thinking about doing the pink first for Breast Cancer Awareness.

OPI trial run

Hello readers just a quick little update! Last week I got the OPI nail polish that I ordered from Amazon as well as three new collections from Color Club (which are amazing!) TO kick off October, I thought a darker polish would be nice and since I've never used OPI polish before I decided to go with OPI's "My Private Jet". This color is awesome! It went on really smooth and dried pretty quickly without any tiny bubbles after it was dried (sometimes after I paint my nails I notice that little bubbles formed in the polish). I really love the brsuh because it's just the right size and I can pretty much do one even stoke of color and it covers my entire nail. I used two coats to get it nice and even. I then finished it off with a coat of Sally Hansen Advanced Hard as Nails which caused a little bit of shrinkage.
I looked at the polish in the sun and I was surprised at how many different colored little sparkles where in it! The polish itself looks black, but in the light has an almost coppery undertone to it then on top of that there's all the glitter (red, purple, blue, green). I love OPI!

Shopping with my Button! (LOL)

Yesterday, Leah and I hung out and she got to meet Jax! After playing with puppy for a while she and I went to Ross and this really cute boutique called La Pink. I thought La Pink was a new shop but apparently it's been there for 5 years! They carry Vera Bradley and I've been getting the VB itch! It was a really nice shop and Leah and I both found something! At Ross we were looking at shoes! I found these super cute "Guess" shoes, I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty much in love with them. I'm not even going to try and describe them, they were $32.99 which is GREAT for a pair of Guess heels... excpet I found... some color club nail polish.
This was one that I found a few posts ago and decided to not buy it.... well it was the only one and I decided it was a sign =]
I have been reading some of the blogs and a few people have been using the Color Club Foiled collection. I was SUPER stoked to find this!! I can't wait to use them!
Also a few posts ago I found the other version of this collection. This is Collection A so now I have both A and B!

So I decided to get all three collections and skip the shoes. It was painful trust me, I've never said no to shoes before! But who knows maybe this Thursday I'll see if they're still at Ross =]

I just got three different collections of nail polish and of course I had to paint my nails! I couldn't choose, there were so many! OH! I can't believe I almost forgot! I also [FINALLY] got the polish I ordered from Amazon!!!!
My first OPI's!! I got "My Private Jet", "Russian Navy" (which I thought was going to be more blue, this has purple. blue, and red sparkles in it!), and "Princesses Rule!" Unfortunately my pink leaked a little bit =[ but thankfully I didn't lose too much!

Back to my mani! Leah picked the neon blue from my neon collection!
This is two coats, without a top coat. I should probably have done another coat but I had puppies running around me!

Puppy!!

Hello all! I have some exciting news! First of all, Fancy and I finally ordered our Save The Dates! I'm super excited and I really cannot wait to get them! They're super cute- nice and simple. I really didn't want to spend a whole ton of money on the save the dates (I'd rather spend more on the invitations themselves!). I did a ton of research and found a style that he and I could agree on and ordered a 100 of them for $133.00, shipping and handling put it just over my cap of $150.00 to $151 and change, something I could live with.
This is the template from the website (Davids Bridal) but this is it! I can't wait to get them!!!

Next up, another bit of exciting news! We got our puppy this weekend!!! So ladies and gentlemen... I would like to introduce to you... Jax!
He is 4 months old and is a purebred Shetland Sheepdog and he is an absolute joy. I was actually really worried about my other two dogs and how they would react to the new pup mainly because my oldest, Sulley, was depressed for 4 days after I brought home Brinkley. It about broke my heart. But thankfully they love him! Brinkley tried to get him to play yesterday but Jax was still getting used to his new home and wasn't much in the playing mood. However, today was a different story! Jax played with Brinkley and many times instigated the play!
His favorite spot is under my coffee table. I'll allow it.... because he looks so cute under it. So here is my family

These are my guys and I love them all =]

Now onto nails! (LOL) My Orly mani didn't really last as long as I was hoping but it sure looked pretty- it was a BEAST to get off though! The color came off pretty easily but getting the glitter off was ridiculous. I was actually surprised with how much I had to scrub. I let my nails breathe for a couple days and decided to do my nails today. I went through my Box-O-Polish not really sure what color I wanted to do and came across one of my finger paints bottles that I'd bought a while ago. I hadn't used any of my Finger Paints polishes yet so I decided to try it. It's a really pretty silver polish called "Easel Come, Easel Go!". It went on really smooth and was really easy to control which was good because I broke the nail on my left index finger down pretty low yesterday. The silver looked really nice but I was in a crackle mood so I put my gray crackle over it. I used China Glaze "Cracked Concrete".
Here's my combo! And I, stupidly, did not take a picture of my nails just with the silver on >_< (sorry!) But here's it together
I really hate the lights in my apartment! They all seem to have a golden glow and it's terrible for picture taking but I always tend to do my nails at night so I guess this will have to do. I like the Finger Paints polishes a lot, they dry really quickly and I probably could have gotten away with one coat of the silver, honestly.

Still no go on my order from Amazon.... I paid 6 bucks for shipping!! Hopefully it will be in my mailbox tomorrow *fingers crossed*. Well I have some sleepy pups looking at me so I'm going to call it a night! Until next time =]

Real Quick Update!

Yesterday I tired one of my new polishes. I used Orly "Rock Solid".
I was really satisfied with the way the polish went on. It was very very smooth. The brush was also really easy to use, the top feels almost rubber-like and fit into my hand very comfortably. It took two coats for the polish to be opaque. I only had time to use one coat of Clear but it could definitely use more than one. The sparkles in it make the polish a little rough even with the clear over it.
(excuse the mess, hadn't cleaned them up yet). I took this one inside and decided to go outside to take another since I didn't feel you could really see the sparkles in this picture.
Here it is in the sun. For some reason I still feel like these pictures don't give the polish justice. Maybe it's because I took the pictures with my IPhone and not my camera camera. Oh well! It's a pretty polish and I'm super satisfied with it! Orly, I will be getting more of you in the future!

On another quick note, I ordered three OPI polishes from Amazon and today is the first possible delivery day! I haven't checked my mail and I hope hope HOPE they're there! I ordered "Princesses Rule", "Russian Navy", and "My Private Jet". Can't wait! AHH USPS please bring them soon!

Nuts, Crazy, Obsessed For Polish! (Don't judge me Monkey!) ^_^

Good evening all! I've got some stuff to tell y'all about. So in my last post I blogged about some Kleancolor polishes that I ordered from Amazon. Well I got them the following day (the 15th guess crossing your fingers DOES work!) and man was I excited! I had walked to the mailbox that day half expecting not to get my polishes that day but there they were (and nicely packed I might say!). I opened the box eagerly and while I'm happy with most of the colors, I was not happy with two of them.
Here's the picture of the polishes straight off the Amazon website.
Here are my polishes in the same order as the picture above for quick comparison. Take a look at the first polish in mine and the picture from Amazon. In the first picture (Amazon) the color looks like it has a silvery undertone, I was expecting this color to be more of like a Steel color, when in fact it's actually Black. Next, take a look at the color second to last, take a moment to compare them. In Amazon's picture this color is more copper and has a metallic shine to it. My color, called "Mocha" is pretty flat. Despite those colors I'm still pretty excited to eventually try them all! The same day I got my package in the mail I wandered around target looking for a brown polish (because I don't have one) and settled on one from Sally Hansen called "Forbidden Fudge". Later that day I picked the other beaut from Forever21 called "Pewter".

Yesterday I rummaged through my nail polish basket and decided to paint my nails some sort of pink. I decided to go with a hot pink! However I think it has some orange undertones or something because in the light it doesn't look like your typical hot pink.

See what I mean? I didn't really like it at first but I'm liking it more now, I used #109 "Pink Promenade Creme", phew say that 5 times fast! This was my first time using the NYC brand and I must say that for .94 it went on pretty smooth and dried fast. I really could have gotten away with only doing one coat but decided to do the usual two coast anyways. I'm going to try a little experiment but I'll get to that next.

Today, while Fancy had his eyes glued to the TV (love him!), since it IS Sunday and for any man that means Sunday all day football. I decided to hit up Sally's Beauty to see if I could find anything pretty. Also, my friend Emily has been using a brand of polish called Color Club. All the colors that she showed were SO pretty! But I couldn't find it anywhere (other than Amazon and it was something like $6.00 a bottle!). Luckily she was nice enough to let me in on the secret as to where it's are sold! Ready for this? Ross (carries the sets) and Bed Bath and Beyond (carries the singles, that is if your store has an HBC section. Unfortunately the only store that has an HBC section is back in my home town! None in Tampa). So today I took a trip to Ross to see if I could find some sets of Color Club polish.
JACKPOT!!! And the sets are $7.99!! The first set is called "Starry Temptress" because all the colors have pretty pretty sparkles in them! I finally own some neon colors and I'm beyond stoked! The colors are: "Space Case", "Ultra-Astral", "Wink, Wink, Twinkle", "You Got Soul-Ar", "Glitter Envy", "Otherworldly", "Starry Temptress TopCoat". The second set is called "Back to BOHO". These will be prefect for the upcoming Fall season! The colors are: "Boho Mojo", "Nouveau Vintage", "Voodoo You Do", "Artsy Crafty", "Blue-Topia", "Rebel Spirit", and a TopCoat. I also found another set of Neons, pretty much the same as the first set sans glitter.... I didn't get it but maybe I'll go back for it! Why say no when it feels oh so good to say YES! Hehe!

On to my Sally Beauty trip. This was also successful!
I couldn't get a good picture of this polish in the bottle so I did a little swatch on some white paper.
Ooooh yes! This is China Glaze "Midtown Magic". I bought a really pretty turquoise color a while back from China Glaze and was happy with the color on my nails but was not happy with how quickly it chipped and when I took it off I had to cut all my nails back because they were so flimsy after using the China Glaze polish. However, I could not pass up this gorgeousness so hopefully China Glaze, you do not let me down again! Sooooo remember that experiment I was talking about earlier? Well part of it is in the next picture.
This is my first Orly polish! ...And also my first polish to do nail art with. Yup, that's my experiment! I'm going to make an attempt at some designs (very VERY simple ones mind you, so don't get too excited!). Anyways, back to my Orly polish! I'm pretty stoked about this color. It's called "Rock Solid". I've been getting into the more glittery looking polishes as of late and this one spares no expense!

Today was a good day and I still got my cleaning tasks done =] What better way to reward yourself than with some beautiful polishes?! ^_____^

All about polish!

In my last blog I wrote about the red L.A. Girl crackle and Revlon's Pure Pearl.

Well I tried this combination out and let me say I was pleasantly surprised with it! Especially the L.A. Girl red crackle. You ever get a red polish but when you put it on it's more pink than red? That drives me crazy! So I was pretty nervous about my red polish but I am happy to report that it turned out RED!

Check it out! Love how it cracked too! On the bright side, because I used the pearl color as a base, when it started to chip it was harder to tell! So I was able to wear it longer than usual.

Last week Walgreens had a pretty good deal on their Wet n Wild nail polish (99 cents!!), so I picked up a couple... +2 (haha). (From left to right) Sally Hansen "Pumpkin Spice" (LOVED this one! Has a black tint and lots of orange sparkles. Perfect for Halloween!), Wet n Wild "Hannah Pinktana", Essie "Trophy Wife" (from pictures I thought this was going to be more blue but it looks more like sea foam green, but it's pretty!) and Wet n Wild "Blue Wants To Be A Millionaire" (originally I found the Wet n Wild Blue just by itself but then I came across it paired with a clear for .99(!) and in my opinion you can never have too much clear!

I've been reading about a brand called Kleancolor. I've read that it's a good brand so I ordered a pack from Amazon.

I am getting all six bottles for 12.95 (I found them from a place that had free shipping!!) I can't WAIT for them to get here! They were shipped yesterday and Amazon says the earliest I can get them is tomorrow.... keeping my fingers crossed!!

An Amazing Few Days

Sorry I've been MIA this past week, I have good excuses though! This post is probably going to be a bit on the looong side. Let's jump right in! I had this past week off (it was SO nice!) I didn't realize how badly I needed to just get away from work. This vacation really put me in an all around better mood. So Tuesday my good friend Liz and I went to Brandon to hang out. I wasn't really looking for anything other than maybe to check out what nail polishes Forever 21 had. Oh yeah, and maybe a dress because Wednesday Fancy and I were going to have a date night (but I'll get to that later on).
I successfully found some pretty polishes! L.A. Girl Cracked (bottle doesn't have a name but on the website it's called "Blast"), I was really excited about the L.A. Girl polish because it's the crackle polish! The Revlon polish I found outside of the mall in "Pure Pearl", love & beauty (from Forever21) in "Blue", and love & beauty (from Forever21) in "Purple". I think I'm going to use the red and the white together first. I'm really excited to see how the Cracked polish will look. I'm trying to get one of every "crackle" type polish out there to try it and find the best one.

I found a super cute dress from Hollister (and it was ON SALE. It was a $50 dress and I got it for around $15). Originally I thought it would look really cute with a pair of white strappy sandals but then I thought well maybe a pair of white tennis shoes (like the kind the Baby wore in Dirty Dancing). In the Brandon mall there is a newer store called "Cotton On". It's this super cool store with really cute clothes that are paired with affordable prices(!). It was at this store that I found my "Baby" shoes.
I love these! They're perfect for my dress! I was very excited with my small purchases and I was even more excited for Wednesday! I had to keep myself busy on Wednesday because while I had it off Fancy had to work. Luckily the day went by fast because I hung out with my MOH and future sister-in-law, Leah. Fancy really stressed that I be ready when he got to the house so we could leave immediately. I made sure I was ready, even watched for his car out the peephole. When he got the the house he had to go inside for a minute (go figure). We made great time getting to the restaurant (since we made such good time we stopped at ABC to get some champagne, I didn't really think anything of this, just thought it was for when we got home), we went to this place called Trolley's.
It was this little place tucked away in the Embassy Suites Hotel in downtown Tampa. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. During dinner Fancy left (he said to use the restroom) and he was gone for a while! I was getting worried and texted him to make sure he was ok (making sure he didn't fall in! Haha). When he got back and we were done with dinner, he wanted to explore the hotel. So we wandered around, Fancy wanted to show me the view so we took the elevator to the 16th floor... which I thought was weird because there were 18 floors. Why not just go all the way up? We stop in one of the hallways and my man pulls out a room key!! He rented a room for the night so we could stay and enjoy some time alone together (sans puppies). I was SO excited! But of course I'm like "I didn't bring any clothes!!" But I should have known, he had packed a bag for us the night before (complete with bathing suits!) and the reason he went into the apartment before we left was to pack the bathroom bag really quick.
Here is the front room
This was the hall leading to the bedroom complete with mini fridge! Remember that champagne we stopped for? Yeah, he put it in the fridge (which was why he was gone for so long at dinner! He had to get the car from valet and put everything in the room!)
The KING size bed! This bed was enormous and very comfy!!
More of the bedroom! It was so big!
At dinner this couple got this amazing looking chocolate cake and I really wanted some but I was SO full! So around 10:30 I looked at Fancy and said "I want chocolate!" He says "Maybe if you think about it really hard, you'll get some!" So to humor him, this is what I did. Then, out of nowhere, there's a knock on the front door! Justin goes and brings me back this piece of cake all the while saying "You are good! How'd you do that?!" Haha! He had set up room service to bring cake at 10:30!! It just so happened that that was the time I got a craving for chocolate!! I LOVED this whole experience, it was just amazing. I feel really lucky to have found such an amazing man.

Thursday was going to be a crazy day because in the afternoon we were leaving on a road trip to Indiana! We were going to the USF v. Notre Dame football game!!
Go Bulls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Indiana has a LOT of corn fields!
Fancy and I in front of "Touchdown Jesus" (yes it's really called this) on campus. Their campus was huge and really beautiful!
It was an awesome game! We won (after 6 hours because of the rain delays) 23-20! GO BULLS! This was a once in a lifetime experience. Who knows when they'll play each other again (if ever)!
